A hospital for women and children

The health situation in South Sudan is tragic. Forty years of civil war has devastated this nation! Average life expectancy is only 41 years; one in ten women die during pregnancy or in childbirth; and one in five children die before their fifth birthday. His House of Hope is a new hospital for women and children, demonstrating love for the people of South Sudan by providing much needed health care. Graham and Linda Poole will be working there from August 2012.

We are raising funds for a project that intends to help a hospital project in South Sudan. The project has a target of $50,000 and the money will be used to equip the hospital with solar power panels. We would like to help by running a special fundraising event. Please come and enjoy a garage sale (including furniture, toys, household items), cake stall, book stall, sausage sizzle, car wash, coffee and soft drinks sales. Donations of saleable items also gratefully accepted.
